Miss you Big Lad

Thursday, 15 November 2007

I now know why Pippa was moaning about her mistress not doing what he wanted her to do, I've had the same trouble with my mum, I've not been able to get near MY PC cos she's on there all the time messing with photographs and other silly stuff, I've just managed to sneak on here for 5 minutes, so firstly let me say sorry to all my pals who I've not visited for ages, all you who've been ill or having tests, and all of you who've got new brothers or sisters, I haven't forgotten you.
We haven't been out much recently, cos of Sally being in season, mum says as much as she likes her she doesn't want a load of little Sallys, but we eventually managed a trip to Cleeve Hill. It was really really really windy and cold too. Sally told me she didn't like it at all and that she was scared of the wind, but I protected her and told her not to be so silly.

Healing Thoughts worked

Thank you all for your healing thoughts, Deb has phoned my mum to tell her that Hector is now doing well.
He was operated on on Wednesday and had 2lbs of water drained from his lungs and around his heart. He has had the medication for his hyperthyroid increased and is also on water retention tablets, he will be strictly monitored for the next week, and the vet is hoping the increase in medication will solve the problem, if not he will then have to take heart tablets too, but at the moment he is eating well, puring loudly and looking amazing. Thanks again, all of you.

Healing Thoughts

Please will all my pals out there send some healing thoughts to Hector. He lives with Deb my mum's youngest human (she's the one on the pic of 'A trip to Cleeve Hill'), they adopted him from The Blue Cross about 2 years ago when he was 13 years old, he was suffering from hyperthyroidism, but they took him on knowing he'd be on medication for the rest of his life, well aparently this condition causes heart problems, which he has now got, so tomorrow morning he is going into the vets to have a load of fluid removed from round his heart, then hopefully he can have medication to keep it at bay. Deb and her husband Neil really helped me get back on my feet when I was really ill, that is why I want you all to send healing thoughts......PLEASE

Far from the maddening crowd

Mum took us out today away from where any innocent dog may get accosted by Sally the Tart, we had a very nice peaceful walk and Sally was a perfect little lady doubt she would have been if we'd met anyone though.
She remembered her camera this time, so you can see where we went, she insisted I post this pic in black and white, cos she says us dogs can't see colours properly, but how do humans know what WE dogs can see, so now she gone out of the room I'm posting the proper one.
Robindog and his peeps arrived back here about 6pm, so we had a quick photo shoot in the garden before it got dark as they are going back to their own home tomorrow. Robindog was really tired after spending the last 4 days mountain biking and couldn't be bothered with Sallytart tonight, especially after she'd spent ages playing up to him, he took one sniff at her and she snapped at him. Boy oh boy, I can't wait for her hormones to return to normal, talk about unpredictable.

Robindog visits Sally

Last Wednesday mums eldest human and partner came to visit us and so did Robindog, Robindog is like me and had his bits removed many mealtimes ago, so we knew Sally would be safe, but we didn't know Robindog wouldn't be. Sally was worse with him than she is with me, tart is an understatement, she flirted with him all night, I was quite embarrased.
We all went for a walk on Thursday morning, but silly mum forgot her camera, so she couldn't take any pics of us walking together, but she said Robindog and I were the 'men in black' as Sally was walking between us and we were her bodyguards.
Anyway Robindog and his peeps have gone mountain biking in Wales till Sunday, but mum says she'll try and get some piccys when they come back.

Confined to barracks

Well hello everyone, I'm gonna make all you entire dogs really jealous now, not that I care twopence myself, cos I lost my bits years ago, but I'm living with a tart named Sally from the Alley. When she came to live with us no-one knew if she'd had her bits removed (or spayed, as humans call it), but it has become very clear in the last couple of day, that she has still got them, so she's confined to barracks at the moment. She keeps coming up to me and whispering in my ears, (well if sticking her nose half way down my earole can be called whispering) and staring at me, she's even lying on my bed, mum says she'll become even more of a tart too over the next week, but luckily I won't have to put up with it again, cos mum says as soon as she can Sally is going to have her bits removed.

A trip to Cleeve Hill

Now Sally is allowed out, mum, dad, and youngest human decided to take us to MY bestest place.
I did feel better now we are outside together, and I suppose she's not that bad really.

She still follows me and sniffs MY sniffs, but that means she's got good taste eh?

On the way home I was standing up watching where we were going, but Sally wanted to sleep, and dad kept telling me off for hogging all the room, but I can't help that cos I'm a lot bigger than her.

Poor little Amber

Mum wants me to put a link on here about a little Yorkie called Amber who hasn't had a very good life so far. She lives in a rescue centre for Yorkies in Lincolnshire, and because of an illness she's got, probably will always live there. They are trying to raise some money for her treatment, and if sucesful Amber's Appeal could eventually help others with the same problem. They are only a small rescue, and haven't got the funds for big advertising, so mum wants me to do my bit in promoting this appeal.

You put your right leg in.........

Mum thought you all would like to see a pic of Sally and me doing the oaky koaky, so here it is:

I'm not sure if I like Sally or not, she keeps coming up to me and asking me to play, but I don't want to, so I'll turn my face away so I can't see her, to be honest, I hate telling you this, but she scares me, mum calls me a big wimp, but she doesn't understand, how does she know Sally's not going to do something horrid to me.

She's had to stay in since she arrived as she'd started a new course of jabs while at the Collie Trust, so we went out last weekend without her, we visited a GIANTS golf course

This is a good view, isn't it?

Sally from the alley

This is my new friend Sally, she is 19" short, she was in a dog pound in N Wales before being transferred to the Border Collie Trust

It's a funny old life, I was in a dog's home in S Wales before being transferred to the Border Collie Trust, I wonder what is it with Welsh strays and the Collie Trust that mum finds irresistible? Oh of course, it's moi! Huge Happy HANDSOME Hairy Harry, hhmmm, what is Sally then? Short ....? .....? Sally.

She kept asking me to play and charging at me with a yoghurt pot yesterday, I thought it best that I stood real still, but she still kept skidding into me, so I told her to clear off, not nastily, just mumbled under my breath that I am the boss, better not write that too big as mum and dad are really.

I've heard mum saying that she's a little angel and that she is really well behaved, but I'm still waiting to see what she's like when she gets her paws under the table, then I'll let you all know the proper truth.

Girlfriend arriving Friday 17th Aug

Firstly thank you all who voted on my poll. This is one of the nice places I shall be taking my new friend.

Last Sunday my mum and Auntie Ina (Holly and Abby's mum) took me to visit The Border Collie Trust, where I came from many walks ago. My mum had read about a 6 year old collie girl on their website that she thought I might like. The lady there went to the kennels and brought out a tiny (well I suppose anyone is small to me) collie, I liked the look of her straight away, but she's a funny colour, I heard my mum say she is sable and white and that she looked a bit like a Sheltie, I suppose us Collie crosses come in all shapes and colours.
Anyway, she come over to me and sniffed my bum, then she sniffed my nose and she wagged her tail, I thought I'd better do the same too, then we went for a walk together, and were let off our leads so we could get to know each other better. She followed me everywhere, I thought girls were meant to play 'hard to get', but I think I like her.
My Mum's eldest human who had joined us there, suddenly said something that all the other humans thought was really funny and they all started laughing, mum said it was fate and that we ought to adopt her.
It must be a human thing, but why would the sentence 'When Harry met Sally' make them all go into hysterics, I'm totally confused.

Does this mean I might be getting a friend

HHmmm, not sure what to make of this, I've just caught my mum looking on the Dogs Trust website, and muttering to my dad, 'do you think H would like a friend'

What does she mean...................? I've got loads of friends anyway, and I'm quite capable of picking my own, thank you very much!!

She's mumbling something about those poor dogs who haven't got a proper home and she reckons she's got enough love to share between ME and someone else, Huh!

What do all you who have friends, brothers or sisters think, will I get my nose pushed out, or would I be happier with a friend of my very own, I'll do a poll for your thoughts.

Oscar the Airdale RIP

One of the 1st to welcome me here There's a new star in the sky this year,
It's my best friend who I wish was here,
so I reached into the sky tonight,
I borrowed my star that shines so bright,
I brought him back into my home,
and we spent a little time alone,
in the morning he said he must be gone,
so he can shine on everyone. VH

Keep shining Oscar!

Robindog

Thought it was about time I introduced you to Robin, he’s er……….my nephew?…………..er, no, that’s not right, cos I’m adopted, so who is he? Perhaps he’s just a friend, anyway, he lives with my mums eldest human and her human partner and he lives lots and lots of big walks away in somewhere called Hampshire.
They don’t always call him Robin, they sometimes call him something else, but I won’t say what that is on here. My mum says it’s what humans call other humans when one charges another too much for something, I call him it cos he steals my toys.

I’ve told him to write a blog of his own, but he says he’s too busy cos he has to work full time at his dad’s print works during the week. I told him to sneak into the office and steal a computer (cos he’s good at stealing), but he said cos he wears a blue collar it means he’s a DOGual worker and he’s not allowed in the offices.

Nearly every weekend he goes mountain biking with his mum and dad, where he likes to jump into the big muddy puddles and roll in fox poo.
He recently had to have an operation on his throat cos he had a big lump growing, his mum and dad were really worried cos they thought it was cancer, but it was caused by a stick that had gone down his throat, he’s all better now though and still as naughty.
My mum bought him this ASBO t-shirt recently cos she says he deserves it
P.S.
I want to say thank you very much to UmeVerse for awarding me a Rockin Dog Bloger, it's an honour as I haven't been here very long.
I am giving it to all of you as you've all made me feel really welcome, but the 5 I will mention are

My weekend

I've had an exciting weekend going out in my motor First we set off to a nice place called Dovers Hill (this was me there about a month ago) where there are lots of lovely doggie sniff and lots of these white woolie things but we had to turn back because we couldn't get over the bridge at Bidford on Avonmum took me back to sit in the motor cos I don't like water, she put her wellies on and walked onto the bridge to have a look at the road the other side, but she said there was lots and lots of water there too.
So we went for a walk in a park at Evesham, but there wasn't much park to walk in cos all the water was there too
So we came back home and I had my dinner and went to sleep.

On Sunday my mum said we'll go onto the hills at a place called Bishops Cleeve my bestest place in the world, cos I can see forever and ever
I did lots and lots of exploring
and then we came home and I had my dinner and I was so so tired I went to sleep till Monday

Corn Cobs

My friend Pippa asked if he could tell my corn cob terror story, I said he was more than welcome, especially if it helps to stop anyone else having to go through the horrors my mum and I went through. You've probably all read it by now, but if not you can read it here and here
Pippa posted some pics of me when I was feeling better, but here are some when I wasn't.

this was 8 days after my bowel op, when I couldn't walk.

This was 11 days after my throat op.

Oh the embarrasment

Oh Freda, I don't chase bunnies and hurt them, to be honest I'm scared of them.
Here is a picture of Oliver, his mum is my mums youngest human and he used to live with us till they got their own house, he used run round and round my legs and I was really really scared and used to look up into the sky to pretend he wasn't there.
That is what he's doing here

Yippee it's Thursday

First let me say thank you again to all my new friends, my mum has put you all in my cyberpals list, which is quite embarrasing as I haven't barked at any of you yet, but as soon as she gives me some peace and stops trying to tell me what to do, I promise I will.

On Thursdays (and sometimes other days too) I see my girlfriends, Holly and Abby.
While the humans do lots of chinwagging Holly and me run around chasing bunnies and squiggles through the bushes and do lots of sniffs. The bunnies leave us lots of nice currants, which if the humans don't see we manage to pinch.

Abby's not allowed to join us, but there's a different story altogether, I've told them to start their own blog, cos I know Holly will snitch on Abby and tell you all the gossip.

All my new pals

WOW!!!, lots and lots of new friends
Thank you, all of you.

My mum has been sat here trying to help me reply to you all personally, but she's not much help....................... typical human, so she's left me struggling.
Anyway I know you'll all understand.
So THANK YOU ALL..................I'll get the hang of it soon. I've added you all to my friends list, hope that's the right thing to do

Monday, 16 July 2007

This is my 1st attempt a writing a blog and my mum's not much help as she's never done one either.
She says I'm a very handsome boy and I could use it just to post photos of myself, but I'm not that vain.
I'd like to get as good as my friend Pippadog, he writes some really interesting stuff.
I will try and do some interesting things and come back and tell you all about them
Luv n' licks
